couple standing under the tree with amazing flowers for engagement photo

When E & J got in touch with me for an engagement session, I wanted to capture something that really shows the natural moment of their everyday life. I asked if there was anything or any place in the Bay Area they loved, and they said, "coffee and hiking!"

I was excited because I love those too, so I said, "Let's do it!"

Since we're all in Fremont, we decided to kick things off at Devout Coffee to enjoy some coffee and have a good time as a warm-up. (And we both agree their coffee beans are the best ever in the bay if you like to brew coffee by yourself)

After our coffee break, we got to know each other better. We took a short walk around the Nile area, which is a beautiful old town, and had some more fun.

We're all set for a hike!

Since we're based in Fremont, we chose the Alameda Creek trail. This path takes you to a waterfall called "Little Yosemite." We didn't make it all the way to the end, but the trail in March was amazing. The flowers were blooming like crazy, and everything was soooooo green!

We totally loved the view!

Thanks for inviting me to join you for the hike, E&J. Can't wait to see you at your wedding!

Tips for Adding Hiking to Your Engagement Session:

  1. Find your best photographer in Bay Area

Even though there are tons of talented photographers out there, not everyone is into hiking. Some dig the city vibe, while some are all about capturing nature. It's kind of like picking the photography style that suits you best.

  2. Pick the right place

We all love the beauty of mother nature! And there are diffrents vibes of nature that fit for different peopl. Choosing the right place would help your photos enhance to a diffrent level. Lets talk about the nature of Northern California. We have the fog and beach at the coastal side (depends on the seaon). We have great mountains and waterfalls at Yosemite. We have amazing Redwood forest all over in the area. We have all the blooming flowers in San Francisco, and we have the amazing green hills at Easy Bay, and much more I could not name.

Free fell to contact me to ask about it!

  3. Choose the best season

The title might be a bit off. There's no one-size-fits-all "best season." It's all about what fits you best. Maybe you're into the fresh green vibes and blooming flowers of spring, the sunny days and beach trips of summer, the colorful leaves of fall, or the snowy wonderland of winter. Honestly, they're all amazing, and I love all the scenery! But think about what you really want and pick the season that suits you best.

  4. Prepare as if it's an actual hike!

It's a hike, so you probably don't want to lug around too many props, outfits, or other stuff. I get it, you might be tempted to bring everything to make the photos pop, but honestly, keeping it simple is the way to go. Pack light and trust your photographer; they'll know how to snap your best moments.

And Last thing, water! water! water!
